Dorn therapy (Dorn method) is a gentle manual treatment developed in Germany by Dieter Dorn in the 1970s. It is based on the principle that many musculoskeletal complaints originate from subtle misalignments of the vertebrae, pelvis, and peripheral joints. Unlike chiropractic manipulation, Dorn therapy uses no high-velocity thrusts — instead, the patient actively moves the affected limb or body part while the therapist applies gentle pressure to guide the joint back into its correct position.
At St. George Hospital, Dorn therapy is performed by trained therapists as part of supportive care for patients with back pain, joint dysfunction, and structural complaints.
